Privacy Policy
Effective October 10, 2026. This policy applies to www.electionletters.org and electionletters.com ("the Service").
1. Summary
The Service does not collect, store, sell or share personal information. It has no user accounts. It does not identify or track visitors by any means.
2. Information we do not collect
The Service does not request, receive or retain:
- names, postal addresses, email addresses or telephone numbers;
- the text of any letter, greeting, note or tone guidance you enter;
- the issues you select or the recipients you have in mind;
- payment information of any kind. The Service is free of charge and does not accept donations.
3. Information that stays on your device
Everything you type is processed in your own browser. It is held only for as long as the page is open and is discarded when you close or reload the tab. It is not written to cookies or to any browser storage.
4. Tracking technologies we do not use
The Service does not use any of the following, on its own behalf or on behalf of any third party:
- cookies of any type, including session, persistent, first-party and third-party cookies;
- local storage, session storage, IndexedDB or any similar storage used to recognize a returning visitor;
- analytics or audience measurement services;
- tracking pixels, web beacons or clear GIFs;
- browser, device or canvas fingerprinting;
- advertising networks, retargeting or data brokers;
- embedded social media buttons, widgets or plug-ins;
- session recording, heat maps or keystroke logging;
- fonts, scripts, images or other content loaded from third-party servers;
- email capture, newsletters or mailing lists;
- tracking parameters or identifiers attached to any link;
- referrer information passed to any site we link to.
5. What our server does handle
- Letter counter. A single running total, increased by one when a letter is prepared for printing. It records nothing about the visitor.
- Source checks. If your AI assistant cites a news article of its own, the article's address, title, author and outlet are sent to the Service so it can confirm the article is real and comes from an approved outlet. No part of your letter is sent, and the check is not linked to you.
- Source links. The QR codes on a printed sources page point to short links on the Service that redirect to the cited article. No record is kept of who created or scanned a link.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard web server logs (IP address, time and page requested) for a limited period for security and troubleshooting. We do not use them to identify visitors and do not combine them with any other information.
6. External links
No tracking of any kind is attached to any external link. Links to news articles go to the article's own address. Sharing links contain only the address of the Service and a short description of it. A link that opens an AI assistant with your prompt filled in contains only that prompt.
7. What is outside our control
- Your own devices and network. Your visit will appear in your browser and search history. Your internet provider, employer, school or network administrator may be able to see that you connected to the Service.
- The AI assistant you choose. Your prompt, including any tone guidance you typed, is sent by you to that company and is governed by its privacy policy, not this one. A link that fills in your prompt will also appear in your browser history.
- Browser translation. If you ask your browser to translate a page, the browser's maker may process the page text.
- Other websites. News sites and social networks you visit from the Service apply their own policies.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 and collects no information from anyone.
9. Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version and its effective date will be posted on this page. Questions may be sent to info@electionletters.org.
